      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;West Midlands Fire Service is looking for a dynamic Estates Surveyor (Capital Projects) for a 12 month contract.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The role is highly challenging and rewarding and presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Surveyor. We are looking for candidates who can handle multi disciplines and a diverse workload yet still deliver on time, on budget and to the high standards expected.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You will be directly involved in land acquisition, planning, design, and delivering Capital projects, you must be fully conversant with all current legislation including CDM. You may also be involved in organising and controlling repair and maintenance to Fire Service buildings&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Applicants should be educated to the level of Degree, HNC (or similar professional qualification) or alternatively have gained relevant experience from similar roles.       <title>Temporary Data Analyst</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;The management of Organisational Intelligence in West Midlands Fire Service involves the need to ensure that its allocation of resources and people is driven by risk in the local community. To enable this, research and analysis are constantly carried out to inform and update our view of local risk and to guide decisions affecting the number of people employed, the skills that they require, vehicle and equipment needs and the likely impacts of future change. Data analysis is essential to the management of a modern Fire and Rescue Service and the effective use of resources in fire prevention, legislative enforcement and emergency response.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;West Midlands Fire Service currently has an opportunity to join our Strategic Planning, Improvement and Risk team as a Data Analyst for 6 months. You will be responsible for research and data analysis across a range of areas to support the collation of operational intelligence. This will help you to inform organisational learning, risk management, performance monitoring and the direction and enhancement of work activity.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience in the use of relevant software systems, including MS Excel and Word (or similar). You will have experience of carrying out statistical analysis and be able to present and communicate your results accurately and effectively. Experience of using GIS mapping systems would be an advantage and the use of MS Access (or similar).
