Our immediate priority is to get the right people to the right place as quickly as possible. And as one of the team at our refreshingly bright and clean Transport Engineering Workshop, you&amp;rsquo;ll help ensure that our vehicles are ready to roll &amp;ndash; first time, every time.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Providing administrative and technical support you&amp;rsquo;ll monitoring the throughput of all the work within the Workshop. You&amp;rsquo;ll raise job cards, ensure deadlines are met and keep internal customers informed at all times. Knowledge of quality systems is desirable, as is a basic knowledge of health and safety in the workplace. It&amp;rsquo;s equally important that you have good IT and communication skills and GCSE, Grade C (or equivalent) in both English and Maths. And as one of the team at our bright, clean Transport Engineering Workshop, your skills will ensure that our vehicles are ready to roll &amp;ndash; first time, every time.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;To keep our service ticking like clock work you&amp;rsquo;ll be required to work a 37 hour week across a rotating pattern of early, core and late:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Early pattern 06:45hrs &amp;ndash; 14:45hrs Monday - Thursday&lt;br /&gt;06:45hrs &amp;ndash; 14:15hrs Friday&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Late pattern 12:15hrs &amp;ndash; 20:15hrs Monday &amp;ndash; Thursday&lt;br /&gt;12:15hrs &amp;ndash; 19:45hrs Friday&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Core pattern 09:30hrs &amp;ndash; 17:30hrs Monday &amp;ndash; Thursday&lt;br /&gt;09:30hrs &amp;ndash; 17:00hrs Friday&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Under the direction of the Workshops Manager, you&amp;rsquo;ll have direct responsibility for the inspection, servicing and repair of all Fire Service vehicles and equipment. You&amp;rsquo;ll also be the first line manager for all workshops employees, in regard to their training, work programmes, discipline and career development.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Using your proven communication and leadership skills, you&amp;rsquo;ll motivate your team members and maintain a high level of workmanship whilst balancing available resources. Part of your role will include project work and you&amp;rsquo;ll need a high level of technical understanding of vehicle maintenance and the requirements placed upon us in regard to national legislation.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Substantial hand on experience in the repair, service and maintenance of large goods vehicles, is essential and you should possess a full City &amp;amp; Guilds or Technicians Certificate, NVQ level 3 heavy vehicles plus a National Craftsman Certificate / Automotive Technician Accreditation. It&amp;rsquo;s also important that you&amp;rsquo;re a member of IRTE or other professional body and have supervision experience and a full, current LGV Class &amp;lsquo;C&amp;rsquo; licence.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Become part of our team and you&amp;rsquo;ll not only benefit from the knowledge that your work will help save lives. You will be the first line supervisor for all workshops employees, in regard to their training, work programmes and discipline.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Using your proven communication and leadership skills, you&amp;rsquo;ll motivate your team and maintain a high level of workmanship. Your main duties will include distribution and progression of workloads, undertaking schedules routine maintenance, ad hoc repairs and modifications of vehicles and equipment. You&amp;rsquo;ll also be required to process all relevant documentation as part of our quality systems and instruct and develop Trainee Technicians. Ensuring that all aspects of the Health and Safety at Work Act are adhered to and safe working practices are adopted will be an important part of your role.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You&amp;rsquo;ll need a high level of technical understanding of vehicle maintenance and the requirements placed upon us in regard to national legislation.
