The Coalition Government has asked Central Government and Local Authorities to become more transparent and begin publishing information about itself.
As part of this initiative, The Communities and Local Government Department have instructed Fire Authorities to begin publishing information about “all spend over £500- whether they are invitations to tender, contracts or actual payments”.
The WMFS is committed to providing all of this information and as part of the process of moving towards this position, it has begun publishing details of its creditor payments. The first file covers spend incurred during the period 01/04/2010 to 31/11/2010. Expenditure incurred after this date, will be reported on a monthly basis.
The expenditure categories included within the creditor payment reports comply with the requirements of the Best Value Accounting Code of Practice
Fire Authorities have recently received guidance on the format of information needed to satisfy its publishing requirements for contacts and tenders. This has been used as the basis of the information that follows.
